Navi Mumbai: Chief Minister Shinde, who has a thorough knowledge of Navi Mumbai Metro, has once again learned about the current status of the metro and after the expansion of the cabinet, there is a possibility of launching this first metro line in Navi Mumbai next month. August 15 is likely to be fixed for that. After CIDCO completes all the preparations and preparations, the service will be launched if the important ministers from the central and state governments show their readiness to raise the coconut for the launch.
CIDCO has planned four metro lines to enable the public transport system in the southern part of Navi Mumbai. The work of Belapur to Pendhar metro line of 11 km has been started on May 2011. But due to laxity of the contractors, instead of completing the work in the first four years, it is now half completed after ten years.
Sadco Managing Director Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee prioritized speeding up this slow moving metro work. Instead of Delhi Metro Corporation, Mahametro has been appointed as the supervising and assisting engineer on this project. Therefore, half of the first phase of the five kilometer long stretch from Kharghar to Pendhar has been completed. Oscillation, electrical, safety, critical brake, safety test certificate has been obtained from Commissioner of Railway Safety along with certificate on this route. Coaches plying on this route have also been given a green light. There is only time to show the green flag and the first metro in Navi Mumbai is going to run.
For the last two and a half years, the central and state governments were of different ideologies, so the dates for the launch of this route could not be agreed, but now the Shinde Fadnavis government, which has come into existence in the state, has leveled the decision. Chief Minister Shinde once again informed about all the important projects in Navi Mumbai and has indicated to start Navi Mumbai Metro. When he was the urban development minister, Shinde traveled the Kharghar to Pendhar metro line four months ago. It is being expressed in the CIDCO circle that this route will be launched within a few days after the expansion of the cabinet. For this, the 15th of August is being tested and for this the presence of important ministers of the center and the state is required. Efforts are on for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be present.
