Mumbai: On Wednesday, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar rejected Shiv Sena’s demand for a place in the Assembly’s business advisory committee. The Monsoon Session of the State Legislature is starting from August 17. A working advisory committee meeting has been called to discuss the duration and working of this convention.
Shiv Sena faction leader Ajay Choudhary had written a letter to the Legislative Assembly Speaker demanding that he be included as Shiv Sena group leader and Sunil Prabhu as Pratod in this committee. But rejecting their demand, President Narvekar announced the Working Advisory Committee. Independents and Shiv Sena have not been given a place in this committee, while the leaders of the ruling Shinde group, the BJP, as well as the Congress and NCP leaders from the opposition benches have been given a place.
Assembly Speaker Narvekar will head the committee. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Leaders of Opposition Ajit Pawar, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chandrakant Patil along with Dadaji Bhuse, Uday Samant of Shinde group and opposition party Jayant Patil, Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan will be members of the committee. Besides, Vice President Narahari Jirwal, Ashish Shelar, Chhagan Bhujbal and Amin Patel have been inducted as invitee members.
